The ’Kiss’ is an art-based co-creative process aiming to increasing civic participation in Taastrupgaard, a social housing estates in Taastrup Municipality, Denmark. Through their art, three artists are invited to work on specific social, cultural and material challenges that the area is facing. During the implementation of the three projects, a ‘Methods Prototype Team’ provides a meta-critical analysis of the artistic interventions on the physical and social redevelopment of the housing estate in the form of physical prototypes of socially sustainable urban development. The ‘Methods Prototype Team’s design methodology is guided by the overall idea that physical prototypes constitute an optimal resource for experimentally strengthening civic engagement about area-based social and cultural values. With the gradual development of physical prototypes, the ’Kiss’ constitutes an iterative process of ongoing deliberation.
