Conservation in the Nineteenth Century
13-15 May 2013, National Museum of Denmark, Ny Vestergade 10, Copenhagen
The nineteenth century is a very interesting period in conservation history. We see a strong influence of artist restorers in the treatment of works of art, but also the first contributions of scientists in the examination and treatment of some objects. This conference will focus on the events, persons and ideas that played important roles in the formation of the conservation profession.
