The exhibition of the Museum of Danish Resistance remains closed due to a fire on 28 April 2013. The damage was so extensive that the building had to be demolished.
All museum objects and archives were saved. The damage affected only the building.
A new exhibition building will be constructed at the same location. This new building is not, however, likely to be completed until the end of 2018.
The archives have been moved to a temporary location at Brede, north of Copenhagen, where they may be consulted upon prior arrangement.
You should not, however, regard visiting the archives as a substitute for a visit to the now gone former exhibition. Exhibitions are for everyone with a general interest. Archives are for those with a study purpose. Furthermore, you need to be able to read Danish in order to use the archives.
