National Museum Conservation department

The National Museum's Conservation department is Scandinavia’s largest conservation institution employing a large range of specialists. We are based in the attractive protected buildings at Brede Works.

Apart from our work with the National Museum’s collections, we also carry out restoration and conservation jobs for external customers. In close collaboration with the customer we can arrange conservation and restoration. We often carry out large jobs requiring carefully planned solutions, which often involve several of our conservation workshops.

Our work is based on many years of experience in the conservation and restoration of most types of materials. We work upon a basis of solid professional practice and have in-depth knowledge of historical materials and techniques.

Contact the Conservation department for a free and no-obligations quote for conservation and restoration.

The National Museum Conservation department often hosts international conferences on research topics and methods within conservation and restoration. Read more about coming conferences.
